UCSB’s Transportation & Parking Services provides safe and reliable parking, fleet services and transportation alternatives to our campus community. TPS offers many options for Parking @ UCSB, as well as the Transportation Alternatives Program (TAP) which offers:

  • Discounts on bus passes, vanpool subscriptions, and carpool permits
  • Pre-tax payroll deduction available for vanpool and bus
  • Enrollment in the “Emergency Ride Home Program”

UCSB works closely with, and provides financial support to, the Santa Barbara Metropolitan Transit District (MTD) to ensure our students, staff, and faculty have access to a robust bus system. Through this collaboration, the routes and hours of buses servicing UCSB and Isla Vista have been expanded. UCSB also provides funding to MTD to allow students, staff, and faculty with unlimited rides on a new bus line 28, which connects campus to local farmers markets, and grocery stores all within 2 miles of Isla Vista, such as Albertsons, Smart and Final, and Indochina Market.

These bus lines serve the South Coast with daily commutes to and from the UCSB campus.

  • Clean Air Express bus routes serve Buellton, Lompoc and Santa Maria.
  • Coastal Express - (by VCTC/VISTA) bus routes serve Oxnard and Ventura.
  • FLiXBUS - now has bus service to our region and throughout California and connections to Nevada, Arizona New Mexico, Utah, and Texas.
